Description
Hi! I am Khaled and I come from a Bedouin family in Wadi Rum, a beautiful desert in the South of Jordan.
I have a Bedouin camp in the desert and together with my team I offer tours through the - desert on camel, by foot or by jeep, whether short day trips or week-long expeditions as well as accommodation.
Our Camp is an intimate, private camp with clean washroom facilities. We offer various styles of sleeping accommodations. We are recommended in several prominent tour guides and have many guests from all over the world coming to us every year.
The natural beauty of Wadi Rum attracts many people - for us it is especially important to keep the place as natural and unspoiled as possible. The desert is our home and we want to preserve it - which is why we are very careful to keep the desert clean and keep pollution out when tourists come in - so that this magical place will be there to see for many generations to come.
Accommodation
Usually, our volunteers sleep in the Camp in desert because we want them to enjoy it as much as possible and immerse fully. If the tourist capacity allows it, you will have your own tent with shared bathroom. But if you like to there is always the opportunity to just pick a mattress and sleep outside under the amazing night sky.
(Otherwise, there is an opportunity to stay in the village too)
What else …
The help in the camp is always different, but some constant tasks in the camp are keeping the camp and its facilities clean and interact with tourist, but there can also be different projects, depending on what is needed right now.
Additionally, we also appreciate help in social media and internet work.
Depending on which work you will do you will stay the days in the camp or work in the office in the village.
For us the most important part about the workaway experience is not to make you do our work, as we can do most of the tasks ourselves, but rather to enjoy the process of giving and taking. We are happy to learn from you and teach you our skills and look forward to volunteers with initiative and new ideas to improve our camp while they enjoy our beautiful desert.
